Hello San Tan Aikido Members. Our goal is to move San Tan
Aikido into its own facility in the Queen Creek area sometime in
2007. Commercial properties in the area rent for about
$20-28/sq. ft./yr. For a 1500 sq. ft. space, the monthly rent
would be approximately $2500-$3500/mo not including all the
other expenses. At the rates listed below, that would require
35-50 adults/mo at a non-discounted rate just to break even on
rent. Please keep your eyes and
ears tuned & please ask around for commercial/light industrial
space for rent or for sale, especially if you can find it better
rates! Think outside the box. Sharing space would be a great
interim step.
Tom Sensei teaches Aikido because he loves Aikido, not because
he wishes to earn a living as an Aikido instructor. However, he
still runs the dojo as a business, and expects to do a little
better than break even. We have a long way to go before this
happens.
Members are encouraged to talk with Tom Sensei at any time that
payment of dojo dues becomes a difficulty – we are committed to
finding ways for members to train. No
one will be turned away because of financial difficulties.
Our goal is to give as many people as possible the
opportunity to experience the joy of Aikido training.
